Capital Credits Retirement
Capital credits are a unique benefit of belonging to a cooperative. Because your electric cooperative operates at cost, any excess revenue (margins) are returned to our consumer-members in the form of capital credits.
Through our commitment to run our operations efficiently, Claverack has retired over $11.8 million in capital credits to our members over the years.
This year, the board of directors approved a capital credit retirement of $1.4 million. Active members, whose bill is due on the 6th of each month, will see the credit on their June bill. Active members, whose bill is due on the 18th or 25th of each month, will see the credit on their July bill.
If you no longer have service with Claverack, you will receive a check by mail for your portion of the retirement. Please be sure that we have your current mailing address on file.
