The Weather DOES Affect Your Bill
As the outside temperature drops, it's important to remember that the weather does affect your bill! In addition, you usually pay for electricity 4-6 weeks after use. Be sure to look at the timeframe your most recent bill covers - the previous reading date through the current reading date.
Electric bills can increase by over $100 per device by using:
- Portable electric heaters
- Engine block heaters
- Heat tapes or heat lamps
- Livestock water de-icers
If you use electric baseboard heat or have a heat pump at your home, your bills will also increase during the colder temperatures. Please use your electricity wisely!
