We want to share some exciting news. One of our 2025 Youth Tour delegates, Maia Montross, was selected as a recipient of the Jody Loudenslager Memorial Scholarship!
Maia was valedictorian of her class at Tunkhannock Area High School and is the daughter of Shane and Rebecca Montross of Tunkhannock, Pa. She will be attending Bryn Mawr College, majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology. While in high school, Maia was the treasurer of the National Honor Society, president of the Honors Art Club, and a member of the Spanish Honor Society. She was also captain of the school’s SkillsUSA Quiz Bowl Team, which was the state champion this year and got the opportunity to compete at the national level. Outside of school, Maia is very active in Girl Scouts.
This scholarship is named in memory of Jody Loudenslager, a 1995 PREA Youth Tour delegate from Trout Run, PA, who was among 230 passengers who died in July 1996, when TWA Flight 800 exploded shortly after takeoff from New York.
Congratulations, Maia! We are incredibly proud of your accomplishment and wish you all the best as you pursue your future goals. We can't wait to see all that you'll achieve!
