When the Cooperative has margins (revenues minus expenses) at the end of the year, those margins are allocated (spread) to active members based on their electric usage during that year. Annually, the board of directors determines if the Cooperative is in a financial position to distribute any margins or capital credits back to the members. This is called a capital credit retirement and is returned to members in the form of either a bill credit (for active members) or a check (for members who no longer have service with the cooperative). For more details, click this Capital Credit Explanation link.
Many former members have been issued checks, but the checks have been unable to reach them because we no longer have a valid address on file. Please help us locate these members so we can return their money. Click on the link below to access the List of Unclaimed Funds and take a few minutes to scan the alphabetized list. If you recognize any of these former members, and can provide us with their address, please email us at lynnj@ctenterprises.org, or call us at 1-800-326-9799 or 570-265-2167.
